About me

I specialised in Remedial Education and have been a part of the Thinking School team at Forres for the past 7 years, where the emphasis is on teaching brain-based methodologies and study skills, enabling children to think creatively and constructively and so prepare them for the 21st century.

I have taught all subjects, including art, from pre-school to Grade 6 and my particular focus is on teaching study skills and helping children who are struggling with certain aspects of the curriculum, in order for them to re-gain confidence and succeed in the classroom situation.

My experience

I have taught for several years at each of the following schools:

Bryneven Primary School – Johannesburg (Grade 2)

Thornhill Primary school – Gaborone Botswana (Grade 5)

St. Katherine’s School – Johannesburg (Grade 5)

Cecelia Creche – Child Welfare Nursery School – Johannesburg (4-5 year old group)

Parkhurst Baptist Nursery School – Johannesburg (4-5 year olds)

St. Joseph’s College – Cape Town (Grade 1)

Forres Preparatory School – Cape Town (Grade 6)

Jowell Jewish Day School School – Cape Town (Grade 5 and HOD of I Phase)

In addition to classroom teaching, I was the director of Careways Children’s Centre in Johannesburg, an outreach after-care programme for inner-city children.
